About Our Instructor

Tom Zuniga, Community Capacity Building Workshop

TOM ZUNIGA
NATIONAL Trainer, EDUCATOR, COMMUNITY DEVELOPER, MARKETING CONSULTANT, GRANT WRITER, AUTHOR

As a former Senior Community Builder with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Tom has an astute knowledge of grant funding research and grant writing. Fondly known as “Dr. Z”, he has a Master's Degree in Finance and Marketing from Columbia and Pace Universities.  He has a vast background of over 25 years of experience in community economic development, affordable housing/finance, community capacity building, financial feasibility analysis and community revitalization strategies.   He specializes in developing fundable grant programs for private corporations, private non-profits, community development corporations and faith based organizations.  Utilizing tax credit programs, federal/state/city funding, bond dollars and foundation sources, he has secured over $900 million dollars in financing.  He has been commissioned to author numerous literary works including technical documents, books, research guides and manuals.  His passions are writing, reading, teaching and contributing his expertise to inner-city organizations.
